Get Ready for the Lehman-Jackson Race for Education!
Our biggest fundraiser of the year is back! On Friday, October 2nd, Lehman-Jackson Elementary students will walk or jog to help us reach our community goal of
$15,000!
Every dollar raised goes directly to funding student field trips, school assemblies, dances, class t-shirts, RIF (Reading is Fundamental) books, and other essential education needs.

Event Details & Schedule
The Challenge: Students walk or jog around our ¼-mile track for 45 minutes.
Race Day Perks: The PTO is providing music, goldfish, and ice pops for the students!
Due Date: All forms and payments must be turned in by Monday, September 28th.
Race Rain Date: Friday, October 9th.
3 Ways to Participate
Traditional Sponsorship Form: Collect local donations on the paper Sponsorship Form and return it, with payment, to your homeroom teacher in an envelope labeled "Race for Education" by September 28th.
Online Fundraising: Share your digital donation link with long-distance family and friends by registering online here.
The "Opt-Out" Fee: Skip the tracking entirely with a flat donation of $55 per child or $80 per family, paid online or use the paper Opt-Out Form. Note: Students who "opt-out" are still able to participate in the race on race day!
Payment Rules to Know
Check Payments: Make all checks payable directly to LJE-PTO.
Cash Limit: For safety and accounting purposes, we cannot accept cash payments over $30.00.
Multiple Children: Only fill out one Opt-Out Form per family. Funds will be split equally between your children's grades toward the class competition.
Online Payments: The PTO's new online payment processor is Zeffy. When completing your payment, they ask for an optional tip to help keep their platform free for non-profits. This is completely optional. Select "Other" and enter $0.00 if you'd rather skip it. Either way, 100% of your payment goes directly to LJE PTO.
Prizes & Incentives
Grand Prize: The grade that raises the most funds by September 28th chooses their prize — a pizza party or an ice cream party, scheduled by that grade's teachers!
Gift Card Raffle: Every family or person who donates is entered into a raffle for a $50 Tomasino's gift card, drawn at the November PTO meeting.
Instant Reward: Turn in your pledge form to your homeroom teacher to instantly unlock a custom Lehman Knights keychain!

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I pay with cash?
Yes, but for safety and accounting purposes, we cannot accept any individual cash payments greater than $30.00. Please write a check for larger amounts.
Who should I make checks payable to?
Please make all checks payable directly to LJE-PTO.
How do I fill out forms if I have multiple children?
Please complete only one form for all children in your household. Turn it in to any of their homeroom teachers.
How are funds counted toward the grand prize if I have multiple kids?
Donation totals from single-family forms are divided equally between your children's respective grades to keep the competition fair!
What if I don't want to collect donations?
You can pay the flat "opt-out" fee of $55 per child or $80 per family instead — no tracking required. Online payments for Opt-Out can be made here.
If I choose to opt-out can my child still participate in the race?
Absolutely! "Opt-Out" is in reference to the continued fundraising. All students are welcome and encouraged to join in on race day.
